Veterans Day originated as “Armistice Day” on 11/11/2019. The first anniversary marking the end of WWI. congress passed a resolution in 1926 making it an annual observance and it became a national Holiday in 1938. President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed legislation in 1954 to change the name to Veterans Day to honor all those who serve our county in war and peace. Ever wonder why Veterans Day never changes? WWI formally ended on the 11th month on the 11th day and on the 11th hour. Thank you to all veteran’s who served, curently serving and those who did not make it home.
