The Monthly meeting was called to order by Chair. Jim Melin. There were 16 in attendance. The minutes of the April Monthly meeting were read and approved, Lade/Hinrichs/Carried. The Treasurers report was reviewed with $511,201.60 in cash assets reported. Motion to approve Treasurers report by Hinrichs/Lade/Carried. Resident Issues: Reid McFarlane of the Round-Trade Lake Association presented a study of a Management Assessment of the Trade Lakes in the town of Trade Lake. They are requesting a donation of $2500 to help with the cost of treating Little Trade Lake and a portion of Big Trade Lake which have invasive species present. The Board decided to table this discussion until the June meeting when it can be properly noticed Bids for the loading and hauling of gravel for the Freedom Lake project. The bid was awarded to Nicks Trucking and Excavating with a bid of $3.20 a yard, Hinrichs/Lade/Carried. The bids for the grinding of Freedom Lake Road were reviewed and Kramer Company LLC was awarded the project at a bid of $4,495. per mile for app. 1.25 miles.This bid includes mobilization but not traffic control, compaction or layout of pulverized material. Melin/Hinrichs/Carried. The board will contract with Fahrner to flex patch and crack seal M-Y Road at a cost not to exceed $12,000. Lade/Hinrichs/Carried. The Board will contract with Monarch Paving Comp. to Cut and Repair Pine Lake Road at a cost not to exceed $21,900. Hinrichs/Lade/Carried. The clerk will publish a Class 1 notice with this information. The board will contract with Fahrner to patch Cedar Point Road at a cost not to exceed $2250. Hinrichs/Lade/Carried. Resident Issues: Adam Lesak has requested a Driveway Permit and had the application and payment. Ambulance Report: Northland Ambulance is in need of a new ambulance and has come to the municipalities they serve requesting a loan. The amount needed is $160,000. of which $120,000 would need to be borrowed. If they can go through one of the municipalities for this loan they can get the monies at a lower interest rate. Residents in attendance made the suggestion we lend to them from our Machinery Fund charging an equitable interest rate. It was determined to hold a Special Meeting prior to the June meeting so all electors have an opportunity to express opinions prior to the board making a decision as to whether or not we will help them with this funding and how to do so. This meeting will be published as well as posted. There were no fire reports. Road Mtc. Report: School House Road culvert is in. They have been ditching and hauling gravel. Bills in the amount of $22,023.90 were approved for payment, Hinrichs/Lade/Carried. The Clerk will publish a notice for bids for Sweeping and Scrub/Fog Sealing Whispering Pines Road. Jeff Lade made a motion to hire Burnett County to complete the Melo Drive Bridge project on both the North and South approaches with an estimated cost of $27,000., Hinrichs second/Carried. All donations including Northland Ambulance to be paid out in June. Additional Agenda items for the June meeting are: Open Bids for the Whispering Pines Project, Liqour and Cigarette License applications, Shop addition, Round - Trade Lakes Association request for a donation.
